Swedish (relaxing) massage is the technique that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the most well-known type of body therapy today, one of the main goals of the swedish massage technique is to relax the whole body. This is achieved by massaging the muscles with long sliding maneuvers in the direction of the blood returning to the heart. But swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. It is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while relieving tension.

How to prepare for a swedish massage session?

  • Avoid eating immediately before massage. Eat something light, preferably 60 to 90 minutes beforehand.
  • As the swedish massage is performed with oil directly on the skin, you will be left with only your underwear to receive the massage.
  • Before the massage, remove your accessories such as rings, chains, earrings and watches.
  • To keep the environment more comfortable, the massage therapist will put on relaxing music, inform the same if you prefer another type of music.
  • Try to make the most of the swedish massage moment, try to breathe, relax and avoid thinking about your daily activities, use the massage moment to disconnect from the world, so the effect will be more efficient.
